Jonathan Dean Isaacs

Jonathan has represented parties in more than 800 family law and related matters in eighteen of the twenty-four jurisdictions in Maryland. His experience includes the successful representation of the appellant in the seminal child support case of Walker v. Grow in the Court of Special Appeals in Maryland. He also successfully represented the third party maternal grandmother in a highly publicized custody case that was featured on the America’s Most Wanted television program. In addition, he represented the appellee in Lavalle v. Lavalle in the Court of Appeals of Maryland, a matter that led to an expansion of legislative protections for domestic violence victims.

Jonathan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, having majored in English and History. During his undergraduate years, he worked with the Washington Post Sports Department. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University National Law Center, and during that time, he worked with the Environmental Protection Agency and then the National Football League Players’ Association.

Jonathan has been active throughout his career with pro bono work, accepting numerous assignments from several of the agencies that request assistance from the private bar. He has also mentored college students through his summer internship program, and he has mentored law students, a number of whom have proceeded from law clerk work with his office to prestigious law clerk appointments with Circuit Court Judges.
